Wilson is developing and comprehending essential communication skills at a rapid rate. Which is just as well, because you can easily dehydrate in the warm weather we are having at the moment.

"Here ya go Dad - make sure you keep your fluids up!"

Thanks for the photo Gayle.

Wilson's first boarding pass
Mission accomplished
even if we did run over by an hour. One of the toughest we have endured to date. Wilson was a star and travelled fairly well. TK kept him on the move when he needed to be and subued to the best of her abaility when required

This mission was not without some casualties though - namely, most of Matt and Kym’s brain cells. Apart from that, all the other team members safely returned.

We retired early (thank god I was too young to party in the 70’s) and lucky we did. As it turns out, Wilson wasn’t the only child we had to accompany home.

You dont appreciate how good it is to be home until you see how happy the little fella is in his own environment. When he got home, TK changed him and stuck him on his little play gym. He was so much happier.

Here are some pics of our travels over the last 24 (25 actually) hours.

A new family experience

Bloody hell! I’ve had a few hangovers in my time but today’s topped them all. My good mate - “The Doctor”, had a wedding celebration last night. TK and I were lucky enough to be invited along.

It was great opportunity to catch up with some good friends and chew the fat, share a few laughs and launch an attack on the liver.

For TK, it was the first time in over 12 months that she has been able to let her down. And let her hair down she did!

We stopped at Mum and Dad’s for dinner (I reckon it’s a myth to put a good base down before a booze up, it’s just a whole heap of unnecessary bulk to deal with in the event that it has to come back up…..but anyway) and deliver Wilson for his first night without either of us around. After giving mum all the operating instructions (as if we needed to), TK and I frocked up.

Party time - when we got there, we met a couple at the lift that had bought their little boy along that was almost the same age as Wilson. Let me say, it’s just as well we didn’t take Wilson. When the lift door opened, we were invited to sample some of the good doctors hospitality. A waitress with a tray of France’s finest - “Don’t mind if I do” -I grabbed two. One to whet the whistle and one for a good measure. This was a theme to be continued for the evening

Niether of us remember leaving, but we are told it was around 3am. Neither of remember the cab ride home either. But we thought we were enjoying ourselves all the same. That was until this morning.

The thing about kids is, they dont understand the whole hangover thing. Kids Wilson’s age dont even understand the time of day.

As far as good times go, dealing with the day after with a newborn would have to be the closest thing I can relate to hell.

SONS OF THE WEST

Sons of the West
Red White and Blue
We come out snarling
Bulldogs through and through
Bulldogs bite and Bulldogs roar
We give our very best
But you can’t beat the boys of the Bulldogs breed
We’re the team of the mighty West

Now, all sing together as Wilson’s mighty Bulldogs take on TK’s Magpies this weekend.

Bring on the Beer

Title:  Association of home brewed beer, the making of and labor

Author: Kirk, S.R.: Kirk TM

Address: Hi Viz Brewery, “The Hood” Seaford

Source: Brewcraft

Abstract:
To determine whether there is any correlations to extra curricular activity after attempting every other mythical wive’s tale to bring on labour and child birth. A non experimental study in the kitchen at the warehouse of Stav’s place of work was done. The pregnant patient, past the 40 weeks gestation mark who hadn’t presented any signs of labour to date, during the 85 minutes duration of the experiment, at the 35 minute mark while adding hops the wort, a twinge was noticed in the affected area. Significantly, two relationships were found. Smelling the hops before steeping did not create any further stabbing pains and secondly, pitching the yeast had no affect on any further feelings.
FINDINGS: No evidence of making beer when you’re overdue to bring on labour was found and if there were, it would be of no clinical significance. As for the beer, the yeast was pitched at perfect temperature and we now have a Caffreys clone in the fermentor.

On a side note, TK has assisted in the last two brews and although they aren’t ready to consume, like the baby, we expecting a bloody good yield.
