Maeve is 1
posted bystavI cant believe it - the year has just flown. One moment we were expecting then the arrival, the next minute, after one of the most chelleging years of my life, Maeve turned 1.
We took a lot of photo’s and some video, and, wehn I get around to it, I’ll post up a slideshow.
Interesting how the socail dynamic chenges when you have a young family. For some reason, inviting mostly the mothers group and some freinds with children of similar ages, we ended up with 26 kids and around 34 adults in our backyard. The weather was superb and the kids (and some of the parents) had a great time.

posted bystavIt was a nervouce moment. We”d spent a few months trying to explain to Wilson that he was goign to recieve a baby sister. Being only 19 moths old, it was hard to know whether or not he understood.
Our nervousnesses changed to relief with his first meeting of Maeve, his baby sister. The first thing he wanted to do (after pressing the buttons that made the hospital bed go up and down) was give her a kiss.

posted bystavThis post is under duress. Duress only because I have to get some photo’s up. Maeve was born about just over a week ago, and while we had plenty of time to take photo’s, life at home is pretty hectic with Wilson as well.
That said, it’s all going pretty well. TK is well and Maeve is ticking all the right boxes as far she can at just over a week old.

It’s hot in Melbourne. Last night the mercury struggled to dip below 26 degrees which, under normal circumstances, makes sleep difficult.
But it wasn’t the heat that kept me awake last night. It was an adrenalin fueled nervousness and the strong aroma of excitement that I haven’t felt since the few days before I got married. Not even the effect of a six pack of IPA could relieve last night’s “head miles”.
After a visit to the obstetrician yesterday afternoon the reality of what our new year will involve registered. It was like a thick slap to the back of the head.
2009 was a challenging year on the business front and at home, raising Wilson, was equally hard work. But the rewards are paying off and we are the proud parents of an amazing son. Our gift for the New Year will be another child and whole new set of challenges.
2010 – roll on and break out the cigars!
